Electronic Music/ Studio Recording Technique
Utilizing Drew School’s Facility to it’s fullest potential we will feature a series of courses in the Drew Recording Studio. We will be running a recording session with a producer aimed at replicating the studio experience, playing with a drummer and pianist/guitarist laying down tracks and listening back to understand how recording can differ from live performances.
Chamber Music/Orchestral Repertoire
Chamber Music– This summer we will feature chamber music by bassist/composer Sascha Jacobsen and his ensemble: Musical Arts Quintet. Students will learn some of the genre bending MAQ repertoire, and have an opportunity to play it live with the group.
Orchestral Repertoire: we will feature a deep dive into the four symphonies by Johannes Brahms. Instructors will explore what makes these four master works a must know for all classical bassists, as well as insights into how Brahms evolved as a composer through his life.
Bass Ensembles
All students will be placed into a small and large ensemble to perform with in the culminating concerts Thursday and Friday evenings
